William von Brendel
William von Brendel possesses over 30 years of worldwide sales, marketing, business development and general management experience in the medtech and healthcare space. His diverse experience spans multiple start-ups and multinational companies across diverse product verticals. He has commercialization experience in EMS, orthopedic, cardiovascular, dermatology, plastic surgery, general surgery, urology, gynecology, ophthalmology, optical and PPE / safety products.
William was most recently Senior Vice President, Sales - Global Military Business & US, Europe and LAT-AM Markets for Pyng Medical, an emergency medical device company. In less than 2 years, William doubled the sales of Pyng to over $10 million, creating a profitable turnaround of the business and acquisition of Pyng by Teleflex.
Prior to Pyng, William was Executive Vice President, Global Marketing and International Sales at Nextremity Solutions, a specialized orthopedic surgical implant start-up. William helped build the company from zero to $4 million in global revenue which led to a global distribution contract with Zimmer BIOMET.
Prior to Nextremity, William was Vice President / General Manager of Sperian a PPE / safety products company. He built his 1,600 employee global business unit to a record $150 million in sales and $60 million in profit. Sperian was acquired by Honeywell for $1.4 Billion.
Previously, William has held senior executive positions with Allergan, Zeiss, SulzerMedica, Smith + Nephew and several med-device start-ups. He is fluent in 4 languages, has resided in 12 countries and traveled in 140 countries.
William earned an undergraduate degree in marketing from Indiana University, an MIM in international marketing from Oxford University in England and an MBA from Thunderbird, The Global School of International Management.
